Programs:

Transformative Justice Practionner Program (TJPP)

TJPP is a 6 month intensive, collaborative experience for young adults, 18-25, in the Boston area. Transformative Justice is a political framework and set of practices for responding to interpersonal and structural violence that relies on community relationships to protect the safety and needs of survivors, while building systems of support and accountability for those who have caused and enabled harm. Through deep learning, led by local practitioners, the cohort builds intentional community, and develops the inner capacity, political consciousness, and skill sets to respond to harm outside of punitive systems/institutions and to share this work with others. This program explores many practices including circle process, community accountability, community organizing, institutional accountability, penal abolition, harm reduction, safety planning, and crisis response. Together we work to create a world free of carceral systems.

Testimonials

“I believe that young folxs should have access to this information so that way we can begin to have a ripple effect and start implementing transformative justice in our own communities to address problems that doesn't rely on police, especially in Boston, where the police are a lurking force and prominent in minority communities.” - Kit

“TJ is important to me because it’s helped me learn a lot about myself. It showed me firsthand how connected we can all be outside of an institution, something that I don’t think before this program I really could’ve imagined happening successfully. It taught me the importance of abolition. I feel like it really brought creativity back into my life; so much of TJ is breaking chains that have held our creativity back in order to come up with new fresh ideas to help one another out. It has made me conscious of how colonize my mind is and therefore how to combat it. I already see myself repeating a lot of the things we learned from TJPP to people in my community, whether it be in circle or just through conversation.”- Lynn

“This was my first experience with TJ and it has honestly changed my mentality for the rest of my life already. It supported me with developing my skills as a TJ practitioner by giving me the tools, resources and people I need to keep growing and learning. I now feel like I have a network of people to help me make changes happen and I feel more comfortable in the knowledge learned here to support people around me in a more positive and meaningful way.” - Chaz
